爱思英语编者按：道琼斯突然暴跌，引起人们纷纷猜测。机器交易成为众矢之的。一个匿名交易人说电脑可能出差错了，而另外一个猜测就是交易员可能敲错了数字，把宝洁公司一笔一千五百万的交易算成了一亿五千万。

The dip in the Procter and Gamble stock from $60 to that of below $40 around 2:45 pm, along with Dow Jones also slumping 600 points almost around the same time in less than fifteen minutes have raised a great concern on the trading. The machine driven trading is being blamed for it. An anonymous trader commented that the computer might have gone ahead and processed, something of an error happened there.

Another speculation is that some kind of wrong trade might have happened for P&G, someone might have mistakenly put a 15 billion sell order instead of 15 million, and however the company neither denied it nor confirmed it.P& G has decided to scrutinize the business that happened during 2pm to 3pm.

The fall in the stock market has driven the room into panic and rightly so, since it is not just the stocks that are sinking. Even things are not looking good for selling euro or the gold buyers.
