leg
源自拉丁语 leg are (to depute, to appoint, to assign 委任，委派，委托 ) 及其过去分词 legat us (-tus, ptp. suffix) 。
★ legate n. 使节
﹡ The priest was appointed the legate by the pope. 这位牧师被教皇指定为他的高级使节。
★ de leg ate vt. 委派 n. 代表
｛ de-, intensive prefix 加强词意 ＋ -leg-, to appoint 指定，任命 ＋ -ate, cause to become 动词字尾，表「使～」 → 委派｝
