What can you see through your window?
Is it still blue sky and that lingering sparrow?
What can you write down on your diary?
Is it still pink ink and that overhanging memory?

Dried up cola cans
Scattering around on the floor
Dirt capped electric fans
Leaning against the door
You see my shadow on the wall
Overcastting a renewed summer soul

One step backward
And two steps forward
That is how it is decided by the Lord
You see my footprints on the shore
Marking a renewed summer soul
