　　根据维基百科的解释，汉语中，“众志成城”的意思是，万众一心，象坚固的城墙一样不可摧毁。比喻团结一致，力量无比强大。语出《国语·周语下》：“众心成城，众口铄金。”

　　 英语和汉语一样，简短的句子表达的力度更强，所以，一些关于这个成语的翻译，都是选择意思类似的又简短的英文表达方式，比如，“Unity is strength.（团结就是力量）”，“Make it happen.（美梦成真）”。这里选择用动词unite的过去分词形式，是考虑到与前半句结构呼应。

　　 前半句，福佑中华，用的是动词bless的过去分词形式而不是原形，这是沿袭中古英文中的用法。用现代英文语法理解，可以把句子还原成，“China is blessed. Countrymen are united.”，咬文嚼字地讲，形容的是国家被福佑、同胞被团结的状态。

Boxfish, also known as trunkfish or cowfish, are known for their distinctive boxy profiles and for the bonelike, six-sided plates that cover much of their bodies and protect them from predators.

The Panama Canal 巴拿马运河-8

A ship canal, about 82 km (51 mi) long, crossing the Isthmus of Panama in the Canal Zone and connecting the Caribbean Sea with the Pacific Ocean. It was begun by the French in 1881. The United States gained construction rights after Panama declared its independence in 1903, and the canal was opened to traffic on August 15, 1914.

Little could be salvaged from the ruins.

Roosevelt wanted to build the canal, so the U.S. Navy could dominate the oceans. America seized the route in 1903 for a mere ten million dollars. It was now down to Stevens to turn this muddy ditch into an ocean highway.

As a railroad man, Stevens had a completely new approach. He built a train system to act as a giant conveyor belt removing excavated rock quickly from the cart before it could slide back in.

We"ve got a system of steam shovels on tracks and parallel road for them as well. They are gonna dig. They are gonna lift that dirt and they are gonna put it onto the dirt trains which are gonna take it out of the cart. So we need track here for the steam shovel and track above parallel for the dirt trains.

We"ve got track lifters that are gonna move the tracks so that men don"t have to. We"ve got dirt trains and a plow system that will remove the dirt faster than 600 men could do.

《The Sound Of Silence》

创始人为Paul Frederic Simon，1941年10月13日出生于美国新泽西州纽华克市，他首次与其伙伴Art Garfunkel以一种二人组合“Tom And Jerry”的形式进入音乐届。1957年，他们以一首颇有影响力的摇滚乐《Hey, Schoolgirl》冲击了美国金曲排行榜。

　　1964年，他移居欧洲后，开始在巴黎和英国伦敦各种民间俱尔部中演出。返回纽约后，他与CBS的唱片公司签约，制作人为Tom Wilson，并且重新与他的老搭档Garfunkel合作。他们在1964年录制的专辑《Wednesday Morning》，其中包括歌曲《The Sound Of Silence》的销量不是很好，使得Simon返回伦敦。

　　后来，在美国他与Garfunkel的事业得到了其制作人的支持，将他们的作品《The Sound Of Silence》重新进行电子处理，制作出了一部民间摇滚金曲，并使销量剧增到美国市场最高点。在1965年到1970年期间，Simon和Garfunkel成为美国流行乐坛历史上最成功的唱片二人组。他们的伙伴关系由于对音乐理解的不同，最终还是结束了。
