Luo Lan is waiting for her bus one day.  She sees a man and a woman talking in sign language ten meters away. In college, Luo Lan volunteered at a deaf-mute school for three years.  She was able to talk fluently with deaf-mutes in sign language.  Luo Lan understands that the woman is asking the man for the way to a hospital. The man says in sign language that he has no idea. Always ready to help others, Luo Lan runs up to tell her the direction in sign language.

Friendly to handicapped people, Luo Lan gives them her mobile number, email and QQ before she gets on the bus. To her surprise, she receives an email from the man the next day.  His name is Wu Tianyu.  He works at a real estate maintenance company.  He lives at a garden-like apartment complex in the east of the city.  His parents are both away from him.

Luo Lan carefully writes back and tells about herself. She wishes Wu Tianyu good luck at work.  Since then they have started to chat on QQ.  Besides talking online, Wu Tianyu sometimes asks Luo Lan out for a walk at the West Mountain Park nearby where he lives.  They talk only in sign language, but Luo Lan does not think it difficult.

As time goes, Luo Lan finds that she has been in love with Wu Tianyu, who has obviously fallen in love with her,too. But Luo Lan feels it a pity at the thought that Wu Tianyu would only be able to gesture to her "I love you."  She is then always asking whoever she meets online, "Would you love a mute?" And yet no one clearly says "go ahead."  Luo Lan becomes increasingly upset.

Wu Tianyu seems to have felt her changes, but he still cares for Luo Lan just as usual.  The New Year"s Day passes soon.  One night Wu Tianyu asks Luo Lan out. A bouquet of roses in his hands, he looks anxious and flushed.  Seriously he utters, "Are you willing to be my girl friend?"  Luo Lan is both surprised and exhilarated, but immediately she is ambivalent.

"Please give me two months.  I"ll try to persuade my parents and win my friends" understanding." Signs Luo Lan.
 
Just as she feared, Luo Lan"s parents explode on the news.They go all out to touch the heart and mind of their daughter, but Luo Lan is firm with Wu Tianyu. They then send for other family seniors to keep working on her.

"He is brilliant and optimistic."  Says Luo Lan to her family.  "He has an active attitude towards life and career.  He is always thinking for others and is one hundred times better than many normal people. Deaf-mutes are also human beings.  They deserve happy love, too."

A period of time goes by.  Luo Lan"s parents do not strongly object.  They tell Luo Lan, "Now that you love the young lad so much. May we see him?"  Luo Lan is thrilled, "Sure. Why not?  I"ll bring him home in a couple of days."

With an uneasy heart Luo Lan goes home with Wu Tianyu one late afternoon.  On the bus he signs to her, "Take it easy.  Your parents will surely like me.  I"m going to tell them that I"ll take a good care of you all my life."  Tears welling in the eyes, Luo Lan gets deeply touched.

"This is Wu Tianyu." Says Luo Lan upon arrival home. No sooner has she finished than she gets shocked by what happens next.  Wu Tianyu drops what he carries in the hand, throws his arms around her and exclaims, "Gosh, you can talk?"  And that very question is exactly what Luo Lan wants to ask Wu Tianyu!

The whole room gets stunned.  What on earth has happened?It turns out that Wu Tianyu has been a young volunteer for deaf-mutes.  He saw Luo Lan helping the woman in fluent sign language that day and believed that she is also deaf and mute.  After hanging out with Luo Lan for some time, Wu Tianyu was deeply in love. He successfully persuaded his family to accept Luo Lan.

Everyone laughs after Wu Tianyu makes everything clear. They all admire these two young people as a born couple,graced with virtues and talents.

一天，罗兰在公交车站等车。10米外，一男一女两个用手语交流的年轻人吸引了她。读大学时，罗兰当过3年的志愿者，定期去聋哑学校服务，她能熟练地和聋哑人用手语交流。罗兰看出女青年是在问路，她想去某某学院，而男青年用手语说他不知道。一向乐于助人的罗兰连忙跑过去，用手语告诉女青年怎样去那个地方。更多信息请访问：http://www.24en.com/

出于对残疾人的友好，上车前，罗兰给他们留下了自己的手机号、电子邮箱和QQ号码。没想到第二天，罗兰就收到了男青年的电子邮件。原来男青年叫吴天宇，在一家物业公司工作。父母都在外地，他一个人住在城东花园小区。罗兰很认真的回复了邮件，介绍了自己的基本情况，鼓励吴天宇好好工作。后来，两个人就开始在QQ上聊天了。除了网上聊天，吴天宇还偶尔约罗兰到她家附近的西山公园走走，虽然只是用手语交谈，罗兰却丝毫不觉得沟通有障碍。

渐渐地，罗兰发现自己喜欢上了吴天宇，而吴天宇显然也很喜欢她。可罗兰一想吴天宇不是一个健全人，他永远只能用手比划"我爱你"，就不免有些遗憾。于是，罗兰在网上碰见网友就问："你会喜欢一个哑巴吗？"可是，没有一个网友给出肯定的答案，罗兰更加难过了。

吴天宇似乎也觉察到了她的异常，但对罗兰依然关心体贴。转眼过了元旦，一天晚上，吴天宇约罗兰出来。他手中捧着一束玫瑰，憋红了脸，认真地用手比划："你愿意做我的女朋友吗？"罗兰既惊讶又惊喜，可随之而来的是矛盾的心情。她用手比划说："请你给我两个月的时间，我要用这两个月去说服父母，去争取朋友的理解。"

不出罗兰所料，父母得知此事后大发脾气，晓之以理、动之以情地劝说她，可罗兰就认准了吴天宇。父母看罗兰态度坚决，便又发动了家中其他长辈轮番当说客。

罗兰对家人说："他很优秀，他非常乐观，生活和工作的态度都很积极，凡事总为别人着想，比很多正常人强百倍。聋哑人也是人，也应该拥有美好的爱情。"

一段时间过去了，父母不再强烈反对，却对罗兰说："你既然喜欢那个小伙子，我们总得见见他吧？"罗兰一听，高兴地说："好，好，过两天我就带他来见你们。"

一天傍晚，忐忑不安的罗兰带着吴天宇回到家。公交车上，他用手比划着说："放心吧，你爸爸妈妈一定会喜欢我，我会告诉他们，我要好好照顾你一辈子。"罗兰感动得眼泪都要流下来了。一进家门，罗兰对父母说："这就是吴天宇……"没想到，话音刚落，她做梦也想不到的事情发生了，吴天宇扔下手中的礼品，紧紧地抱住罗兰说："你会说话？"而这句话，也正是此时罗兰想问吴天宇的！

在场的人全都惊呆了，这到底是怎么一回事呀？原来，吴天宇也是一名懂聋哑语的青年志愿者，那天他看到罗兰熟练地用手语给人家指路时，便以为罗兰也是聋哑人，通过一段时间的接触，吴天宇深深爱上了罗兰，并且说服家人向罗兰表示了爱意。听了吴天宇的解释，大家都开心地笑了，称赞两个年轻人是德才兼备的天生一对。
