源自古法语 joindre 和拉丁文 jung ere ( to bind, to join, to connect 连接,结合 ) 的 过去分词 junct us , 有变体: joint
※ 拉丁语 jung ere, to join 连接,结合 → 过去分词 junct us → junct, joined
★ join v. 参加,加入;连接,结合
* His son joined the army last year. 他儿子去年入伍。

☆ dis join vt. 使分开,使分离
{ dis-, apart 分离,分开 + join 连接 → 使分开,使分离}
* We need to disjoin the good apple and the bad ones. 我们必须把好的苹果与坏的分开。
☆ re join vt. 重返,返回;与~再会合;重新加入
{ re-, again 再,又 + join 加入;结合 → 重返,返回;与~再会合;重新加入}
* All traffics have to take a diversion and rejoin the motorway 10km further on. 所有的车辆都必须改道而行,可在前方 10 公里处,重新回到机动车道上。 {diversion n. 转向,改道 }

{ con-, together 一起 + -junct-, to connect 连接 + -ion, action, state 名词字尾,表「行为或状态」 → 联合,结合}
* We’ll have a party in conjunction with Class One. 我们要和一班联合开晚会。
* “And”, “but” and “whereas” are conjunctions . and, but 和 whereas 是连词。

★ dis junct adj. 分离的,不相连的
